Invitation to the Second Train the Trainers Event

August 24-26, 2010, Tallinn, Estonia 

We are pleased to invite you, as project partners and as a subcontracted training institution, to participate in the 2nd Train the Trainers Event to be held in Tallinn, Estonia – 24 August to 26 August, 2010. 

The training program, which will be developed in the INTESE project, consists of two types of modules - "soft" (later trained by country coordinating project partners) and "hard" (technical) (later trained by subcontracted training institutions).
The 2ndTrain the Trainers Event will focus on following topics: 

  • Systems engineering
  • Energy carriers
  • Cost-benefit assessment
  • Settlement planning
  • Design principles 

You have been asked by your country coordinator to give input to the expert discussions (on topic systems engineering) and are kindly asked to send your feedback by 14 June to Sandra Oisalu from BEF Estonia (sandra.oisalu[at]bef.ee).

Participants: 

  • Trainees: 1-2 representatives from 12 training institutions and all 12 country coordinating organizations participating in INTENSE project.
  • Trainers: German experts from e.u.z., Auraplan and external. 

Please take into consideration that the language of the training will be English.
We are expecting the same people from your organization who were participating at the 1st Train the Trainers event to also participate this time.

INTENSE International Workshop Energy efficient urban planning and implementation of energy legislation at local level: The way forward

May 27-28, 2010

Venue: Hotel "Gromada"-Warszawa Centrum hotel, PL. POWSTAŃCÓW WARSZAWY 2 

Workshop objectives: 

  • to provide information on the EPBD recast and its implications on Energy Efficiency in buildings;
  • to discuss the outcomes of national events in INTENSE countries, problems and successes identified regarding implementation of EPBD and ESD at national and local levels;
  • to discuss comments provided for the draft list of recommendations as well as posibilities for local level authorities to influence national legislation – challenges and possible solutions;
  • to present good practice cases of energy efficient urban planning around Europe, and exemplary cases of energy management at local level in general;- to discuss general challenges in mini-project development. 

Both Workshop topics can be used as background information for miniproject implementation. Therefore the agenda also includes time for the exchange of information about the progress on miniprojects since the meeting held in Koprivnica, Croatia, in February 2010.

Participants:

  • Representatives of 15 INTENSE partner municipalities (CEE countries and Germany) and all 12 country coordinating organisations
  • Additional participants from other municipalities (2 from each CEE country)
  • German experts from Auraplan and EUZ - supervisors for municipal mini-projects on energy-optimized urban planning concepts
  • Guest speakers
