BEF Германия
[Translate to Bulgarisch:] Baltic Environmental Forum Deutschland e. V. was founded in 2003 as an incorporated non-profit association in Hamburg and is formally an organisational member of the CO. Currently BEF Germany has two full-time employees which are both committed to the here applied project. Within the projects carried out by BEF Group it is the role of BEF Germany to establish contacts to key experts in Germany in order to transfer their knowledge to the Baltic States and to take over co-ordination and project management functions. The fields of expertise at BEF Germany are energy and transportation issues. Methodologically, BEF Germany has been in charge of designing and co-ordinating various surveys. Consequently, the orginsation will take over the lead for WP6 on public communication and awareness raising and will perform the assessment of training needs within the work package on capacity building. Beyond that, BEF Germany will be the country co-ordinator for the German partners of this consortium.

[Translate to Bulgarisch:] The Energie und Umweltzentrum am Deister e. V. (e.u.[z.]) is one of the leading organisations in Germany dealing with the issues of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources for and in buildings. It was founded in 1981 and since then has expanded continuously. The main activities are training of craftsmen, civil servants, real estate owners and school education on various topics connected with energy efficiency, among which are: air tightness, blower door measurements, key specifics for building low energy and passive houses, ventilation. The e.u.[z.] also offers trainings, seminars, and workshops on retrofitting and construction physics, and courses for facility managers and janitors of residential apartment buildings and public buildings.
On the organisations ground near Hannover, is a training centre and an exhibition centre to demonstrate different construction methods and to perform practical exercises with participants of trainings. Main building and the adjacent guest house have also been retrofitted for demonstration purposes.
For more than 15 years, the e.u.[z.] has been carrying out the annual “BlowerDoorSymposium” and for the first time in 2006 it has taken place on an European scale.
The organisation has also performed the quality assurance for all passive houses built in the district of Kronsberg for the Expo 2000 in Hanover.

[Translate to Bulgarisch:] The independent architects’ office “Auraplan” was established in Hamburg in 2004 by three col-leagues, who are focussing their work on energy efficient modernisation and retrofitting of exist-ing building stock and the construction of passive houses. Another field of activity concerns the issues of energy sound planning of real estate and living quarters, particularly aiming at establishing residential areas with car-free living. The staff at “Auraplan” is well-connected with other colleagues in Germany and well-experienced in organising public events and public participation events in the frame of the planning of such quarters and has experience in training and passing on its expertise in seminars and workshops carried out by various organisers.

[Translate to Bulgarisch:] The City of Münster, located in the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia, is represented here by staff from its Department for Green spaces and Environmental Protection (Amt für Grünflächen und Umweltschutz). Throughout the last years Münster has been the most outstanding example in Germany of putting measures for energy efficiency into practice. The department with its over 200 employees is in charge of preservation and care of green spaces in the city and is in charge of all activities launched by it. The city has a long-years experience in energy efficiency as it is priority issue within the city’s efforts to contribute to fighting climate change. In the past decade Münster has been awarded many times, just recently in 2006 it was declared the Federal German capital of climate protection (received earlier in 1997). Other awards were the Climate Star of the Climate Alliance (Klimabündnis e. V.) in 2004, European Energy Award Gold (2005) etc. Münster’s experience stretches from having a legal framework directing construction on its territory towards energy saving to experience in conduction of public information campaigns. It has a profound experience in energy sound urban planning and has implemented many measures which can be demonstrated and thus may provide many best and good practice examples. The department in charge here also maintains a large network of contacts to the German counterparts of the different target groups addressed in the proposed project, which may be very valuable during the project course.
[Translate to Bulgarisch:] Frankfurt, Germany
[Translate to Bulgarisch:] ticipating in this consortium was established in 1990 and employs currently seven people. The city of Frankfurt with its over 650,000 inhabitants is one of the front runners in energy efficiency in Germany. In 2005 it was awarded with the Climate Star of the Climate Alliance, especially for the promotion of CHP and in 2006 it positioned on rank 6 for the Federal German capital of climate protection.
Frankfurt is well integrated into the European-wide network of Energie cités and is a part of the network of cities of the Climate Alliance. Thus, it maintains a wide range of contacts among local, regional and national authorities and has many contacts with architects and craftsmen through different campaigns and activities carried out on its territory to reduce the emission of CO2 of its building stock by 25 per cent on the basis of 1990. Frankfurt has been active in developing its concepts for intelligent energy supplies and energy sound urban planning and has experience in large-scale projects also of European outreach. Furthermore, the office is well experienced in carrying out information campaigns for citizens.
In consequence Frankfurt provides a broad range of practiced experience which is valuable throughout the whole set of actions from legal issues, over showing best-practice examples, sharing valuable know-how in urban planning, as well as giving input to the public awareness-raising strategies.
